For many of our children August is that super short month when the school summer break ends. For the children we feed, August brings a return to consistent and nutritious food. We accomplish this in two very different ways. For our elementary students, the food is contained in a BackSnack of food provided via our partnership with Harvesters. For our middle and high school students, the food is available at one of our current seven pantries in the NKC and Park Hill districts, part of our “food for thought”program. We are pleased to note an expansion to ten pantries for the 2019-2020 school year. For a look at our current pantries visit the “food for thought” tab on our website.
